Inside the Great Gatsby

I grew up in a small town where entertainment was largely left up to nature and what you made of your surroundings. Besides the fun of throwing water-balloons and rose-hips on any occasional day, gaining access to buildings and neglected farms over the weekends when nobody was around was also a game of choice. Ever since I have a passion for deserted buildings. A while ago I discovered this amazing House in Berlin.

It dates from before 1834, and survived a couple of fires. Remaining it’s brick style. Entering this abandoned house, which also functioned as a guest-house and has a ballroom, was like a 1920’s summer fantasy. Almost feeling like an archaeologist of haunted walls and loaded spaces.
